about

Jasmine is  a multi-disciplinary artist- most notably as a Playwright, Director, and Performer.

 

She is a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park's School of Theatre, Dance, Performance, Studies, where she recieved her B.A. in Theatre. Her work centers faith-based stories that highlight the experience of Black women and Black families. Jasmine firmly believes that theatre can be a tool for creating social change outside of the political arena, because it gives audiences a glimpse into life experiences they wouldn't otherwise see.

 

Highlights:

  • Received honorable mention from the KCACTF Stage Director’s and Choreographers competition.

  • Performed the role of Agnes in the world premiere of She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms.

Current projects:

  • Workshopping her calypso-rap fusion musical, RAPunzel

  • Refining my comprehensive Anti-Racist guide

  • Developing a musical about climate change

  • Developing a virtual stage-play for her church, Evangel Assembly
